This opening concert with Camerata Ireland features two short early works by Krzystof Penderecki, conducted by the composer himself, to be followed by contrasting works by Mozart and Tchaikovsky.

This gathering of Irish and International musicians present an afternoon of chamber music, a highlight of which is the Sextet by Penderecki, premiered in 2000 in the Vienna Musikverein an illustrious ad hoc ensemble that included Yuri Bashmet and Mstislav Rosropovich. The programme also features the famous 'Trout Quintet', a favourite of Maestro Penderecki.
