Camerata Ireland - The Castletown Concerts

Penderecki     Capriccio for oboe and strings (1964)
Mozart           Piano Concerto No 13 in C Major K415
Tchaikovsky   Serenade for Strings.

This opening concert with Camerata Ireland features two short early works by Krzystof Penderecki, conducted by the composer himself, to be followed by contrasting works by Mozart and Tchaikovsky.

Saturday 11th September, 3pm, The Long Gallery - Castletown House

Michel Lethiec, clarinet - Erika Raum, violin - Henri Demarquette, cello - Frank Lloyd, horn - Nathan Braude, viola - Barry Douglas, piano - Roger McCann, double bass.

This gathering of Irish and International musicians present an afternoon of chamber music, a highlight of which is the Sextet by Penderecki, premiered in 2000 in the Vienna Musikverein an illustrious ad hoc ensemble that included Yuri Bashmet and Mstislav Rosropovich. The programme also features the famous 'Trout Quintet', a favourite of Maestro Penderecki.
