The Map Room

The Map Room is another of the eighteen closets in the house. Today this panelled room houses a small collection of maps including two demesne maps dating from 1739 and 1768 respectively which show some of the changes made to the Castletown demesne by Lady Louisa in the mid eighteenth century. Also hanging is a copy of Noble and Keenan’s map of Co. Kildare (1752) which features vignettes of both the Conolly Folly, Carton and Leixlip Castle.
